Amendments to The Workers’ Compensation Act, 2013 came into effect on Aug. 1, 2025.
These amendments make Saskatchewan a leader in ensuring wildland firefighters have access to presumptive cancer coverage, expanding coverage in some cases for out-of-province workers and assuring that licensed health-care providers practicing outside Saskatchewan are recognized to provide service to workers.
The WCB offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 1 to observe Labour Day. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Average preliminary rate suggests a 1.7% decrease from 2018
- Saskatchewan’s 2019 preliminary employer premium rate decreases for 12th consecutive year
- 2019 proposed average premium rate is expected to decrease to $1.17 from $1.19 in 2018

The Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Board released data today documenting a rise in the number of workplace fatalities in the province.
Every fall, the Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) holds two public rate setting information sessions for the coming year.
As of Oct. 9, 2018, we will improve our payment statements to make them clearer.
