Operational Details
Home care workers provide the elderly and convalescent clients with companionship and personal care in the client’s home under the general direction of the family members or home care agency supervisor. Duties may include bathing, manicures, pedicures, personal hygienic care, and other related duties. These workers generally do not perform household tasks, but may incidentally serve meals from time to time, or accompany the elderly person on a shopping trip, etc.

Also covered under this code are clients who receive funding from Saskatchewan Health under the Individual Funding for Supportive Care Services program. This program permits clients to have more control over the home care that they are receiving by allowing the client to recruit, hire and pay someone to provide home care services. This coverage is considered to be voluntary, and can be elected by the client of Saskatchewan Health or by the home care worker. Duties provided by these home care workers would be similar to those listed above.
