Operational Details
Oilfield site-maintenance employers perform a number of tasks including: maintaining the lease site, its structures and surrounding area. This includes ensuring the fencing and Texas gate are adequately maintained to ensure wildlife does not enter the site and damage the equipment. Most lease site activities include monitoring for oil spills, keeping grass down, and the buildings on the site are not left in disrepair.
Site preparation may include: clearing the site and levelling the terrain around the lease-site. Building a retaining earthwall around the site that stops potential oil spills from damaging the surrounding area and seeding of grass and plant life.
Equipment include smaller caterpillar tractors, riding lawn mowers or tractors mowers, bobcats. Incidentally, lease roads may be maintained to remove snow etc., so the site can be maintained..
There will be some cross over with employers maintaining and installing oil and gas well equipment, also insured in this rate unit. When this is the case, the majority of operations rule applies. If more involved in site maintenance, classify it here, if equipment related, classify it in D41-06.
