Operational Details
Auto parts and accessory stores sell a variety of replacement parts for automobiles, trucks and recreational vehicles. Installation is not included as part of this classification. Replacement parts are often more economical to purchase compared to factory parts sold by dealerships. Accessories include: mud flaps, lights, electronics, tire rims, truck steps, truck box liners and covers, emergency road kits etc. Although department, chain and cooperative stores compete, they stock many product lines in addition to selling auto parts and therefore we have to consider their overall operations when classifying.
Electrical auto parts stores sell generators, alternators, electric fuel pumps and electronically or digitally controlled instruments to the general public.
Auto glass stores supply automotive glass for cars, trucks and recreational vehicles, but do not install the product. If installation is regularly performed an alternate classification will be required. Incidental repair includes repairing rock chips with silicone, or occasionally replacing window glass.
Tire wholesale stores supply tires to automotive repair and tire shops, but do not install them. If installation is performed an alternate classification will be required. Tire wholesalers often offer several manufacturers products such as: Michelin, Bridgestone, Perelli etc.
Farm equipment parts and supply stores sell primarily to the agricultural community and to acreage owners. Parts may include riding lawn mower components, power attachments, cultivator components, belts, pumps, generators, etc. Installation and servicing is not included as part of this classification.
