Description

Operational Details
The manufacturing of measuring, control, and recording instruments, computer components and other lightweight electrical items are included.

Types of electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic control and monitoring devices include meters, gauges, sensors, thermostats, detectors, alarms, etc. What is common amongst all the items manufactured are that they are usually less than 25 lbs. and can fit into small cartons. The instruments are used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning applications. Used also in defense, marine, aerospace and navigational applications.

Manufacturing computer cables is also part of this industry. Computer components include the assembly of circuit boards, which uses a design or pattern, that are laminated onto a fiberglassed, copper-claded resin board. Small holes are drilled into selected locations on the board and it is then dipped into a chemical solution which removes the copper outside the designed pattern. The board is then dipped into a zinc solution that electroplates the remaining copper cladding. What results is the detailed electrical circuitry.

Equipment used includes: soldering equipment, calibration equipment, oscilloscopes, drills, grinders, small cutting equipment, vises, and work benches. Painting may also be done on an incidental basis.
