Description

Operational Details
Marina Construction includes the preparation of site work around a body of water, setting into place pilings, building a deck on top of the pilings for a dock or jetty and construction boat houses, buildings and breakwaters or clean up of beaches etc.

The work generally entails using a caterpillar tractor to dredge, or clean up areas where docks, a boat house, motor boat repair shop, or bait house is to be built. Construction of buildings takes place either on or near the water. A marina has several rows of docking or mooring facilities, usually adjacent to one another in rows in a selected perimeter, usually protected from wind and the elements.

Construction of the docks and buildings is accomplished by using pilings for a foundation on which to build structures, that are usually one story high. Hand and power tools and in some cases a cherry picker, crane or mechanical lift is used to set prefabricated components in place on top of the pilings.
