Operational Details
Commercial laundries, unlike coin-operated laundries, are operated by workers who do all the necessary tasks to clean the clients garments and household articles.
Laundry workers operate heavy duty washing machines on an assembly line basis. Garments and materials are placed into a commercial washing machine and when washed are unloaded onto dollies or carts and placed into a commercial dryer. When dried, the articles are folded, and placed in packages or garment bags.
Articles cleaned include men and women’s clothing, draperies, curtains, cushions, sheets, pillowcases, other bedding, towels, wash cloths, etc.
Commercial laundries are used by businesses who cannot afford their own in-house power laundry facilities, or by homemakers who use the facilities as a matter of choice. Examples of commercial users would be restaurants, cafes, dining lounges, smaller motel operators, and so on.
