Operational Details
Physiotherapists are primary health care professionals with a significant role in health promotion and treatment of injury and disease. Physiotherapy is the treatment to restore proper function to your body, help you return to
your usual activities and reduce the risk of further injury by the use of physical methods such as massage, movement and exercise.
Laser Therapy can be used together with many other types of therapy such as physiotherapy, acupuncture, massage therapy, among others. Low level laser therapy (LLLT), also known as cold laser therapy, is used by some physiotherapists or massage therapists to treat various musculoskeletal conditions. LLLT is a non-invasive light source treatment that is applied over injuries, stress, tension or lesions to stimulate healing. The laser reduces inflammation, aids in wound and soft tissue healing, and gives pain relief to both acute and chronic pain.
Medical esthetics are specialized skin care services and treatments offered in a clinical setting. Services include common non-invasive cosmetic treatments, but are not limited to, laser hair removal, tattoo removal, micro-laser peels, exfoliation, facial scrubs, injectable fillers (Botox), cool sculpting, and much more. Laser machines, microdermabrasion machines, exfoliating brushes and facial steamers are commonly used during these medical esthetic procedures. The service could be provided in a medical clinic, a medical office, a spa, or a salon setting. Employers may hire certified medical estheticians and administrative staff.
Laser therapy is also commonly used in esthetics. Laser treatments may be used to reduce the appearance of scars, hyperpigmentation, age spots, reduce wrinkles and stimulate collagen production. Lasers may also be used for hair removal.
Laser therapy used for smoking cessation is also classified here.
Massage therapy is the manipulation of the body's soft tissues; skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments. Massage therapy is performed by a trained, certified medical professional (massage therapist) using their hands, fingers, elbows, knees, forearms, feet, or a device. The purpose of massage therapy is generally for the treatment of body stress or pain.
Floating therapy involves floating in lukewarm water. It helps the body enter a deep state of relaxation for joints and muscle relaxation also helps to ease stress, depression, and anxiety. The therapy is often offered in conjunction with other chiropractic and massage therapies and set up on the same premises.
Occupational therapists use assessments and intervention to develop, recover, or maintain activities of daily living such as brushing teeth, buttoning clothes and using eating utensils. Occupational therapists may also work with their clients to develop hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for activities such as using scissors, holding a pen and hand writing.
