Operational Details
When a producing well is not connected to a pipeline that transports the oil to a refinery or processing plant, the oil must be hauled from large oil storage or battery tanks. Oilfield trucking employers are hired to haul the crude oil and it is delivered to the refinery or to the point of destination from the oilwell, or battery site.
Water is hauled away from a producing well or battery site as the water is a contaminant in the oil. However, it must be transported off the site and treated so it can be purified and then returned to the environment.
