Water softening or conditioning is a service offered in areas where there is too much sulphur, iron or other minerals that renders the water either undrinkable, or unfit to clean or wash with. It is also used by individuals who desire using less soap and do not care for additives such as chlorine in the water.

Water softener packages consists of a machine that purifies the water by removing all the contaminants through use of a filter. By passing the water through the machine it is cleansed by charcoal or other filters resulting in purified water ready for use.

Water softeners have applications where rust and other minerals destroys hot water tanks etc. They are sold with installation. The units are delivered to the customer’s residence or office and the machine is installed by a plumber or mechanical worker, who also runs plastic or copper lines to the water source.

Drinking fountains are also sold and installation involves hooking up the machine to an existing tap, or running a line from an existing water line.
