Operational Details
Dampproofing employers are contracted to either spray or roll waterproofing materials onto the foundation of buildings, parkades or any other outside surface that is exposed to moisture. Dampproofing materials must be impervious to water and other liquids and the purpose is to seal the exterior so nothing can leak through the walls or foundation.
Usually dampproofing materials are applied to the foundation prior to the foundation being backfilled. The work itself is semi-skilled, and is labour intensive. 5 gallon pails of waterproof material or coating, squeegees, mops and brushes are the basic tools of the trade.
