Operational Details
Generally employers have shop facilities where some of the sheet metal goods, including ducts, intake or exhaust vents, etc. are prefabricated.
Workers use crimpers, cutters, rivets, duct tape, ladders, trucks and preassemble some parts in a fabrication facility. What separates this type of a shop from a light manufacturing operation is that almost 100% of the goods fabricated are also installed.
Sheet metal workers may also use their principal’s shop to prefabricate goods and may be hired to install furnace components, air conditioning systems, ventilation and heating units.
