Operational Details
Activities involved in operating a riding academy or horse stable includes the feeding, training, exercising, and general care of the animals by combing, cleaning out the stalls, spreading manure, repairing corrals , fences, gates and maintaining of buildings. etc. Training facilities may also include show jumping courses, riding trails, jumping facilities and grazing areas for the animals. A riding academy may have several riding horses and the business will saddle up the mounts for the customer and when finished, will take the horse(s) back to the stable and remove the saddle and bridle.

Stable operators besides earning revenue stall rental, may also train their own horses for racing purposes. Standard Bred(ponies for sulky racing) and Thoroughbreds may be raised, pastured and either raced , sold, or may involve breeding as a source of revenue if the stable has successful racing stock in its stable.
