Operational Details
Trapping includes the setting up of a "trap line", patrolling it, setting traps with bait, removing animals caught, and skinning and preparing the hides so they can be sold to a tannery or to a fur buyer.
The trap lines are patrolled usually by skidoo, on foot, or snowshoeing. It is an outdoor occupation and the major risk is exposure to the elements, or being injured by a wounded animal in a trap.
